During its 2019-20 fiscal year, the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters Foundation awarded $163,090 for the third year of multi-year funding to the following nine agencies:
- Center for Child and Family Services for Peaceful Families
- Child Development Resources, Inc. for Parents as Teachers
- Commonwealth Catholic Charities for Refugee Mental Health Support Services
- Housing Development Corporation of Hampton Roads to assist with purchasing a house
- Menchville House Ministries, Inc. for Core Operating Support and to provide a summer camp
- Natasha House for Core Operating Support
- Postpartum Support Virginia to expand its services to Newport News and Hampton
- Transitions Family Violence Services for Safe Horizon
- Virginia Beach Justice Initiative for the Restoring Hope Stabilization Home Program.
In addition, the Foundation awarded $75,000 to collaborate with United Way in the areas of transportation and housing—two of the ten community aspirations identified by United Way to achieve its goals for “Pathways Out of Poverty” initiative.
The Foundation also awarded $25,500 to Mary Immaculate Hospital and $140,250 to the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters to continue their ministries.
Lastly, the Foundation provided $30,000 in Ongoing Education Funds and $20,000 in Set-Aside Funds, and awarded $120,000 in Unrestricted Grants to the following nonprofit organizations:

Gloucester Housing Partnership
Housing Development Corporation of Hampton Roads
